Preventing Paddy Stubble Burning | Nizamabad

Category:

On 13 May 2026, CSA (Centre for Sustainable Agriculture) organized a district-level consultation in Nizamabad, bringing together the Department of Agriculture, NABARD, KVK Rudrur, VDC members, and farmers to address the rising issue of paddy stubble burning in rice-growing areas.

With continuous mono-cropping, stubble burning is becoming a serious concern, affecting soil health, air quality, and community well-being. The workshop focused on promoting village-level collective action and practical alternatives such as in-situ incorporation, composting, and the use of waste decomposers.

Stakeholders identified key challenges like limited access to machinery and time constraints, while also committing to solutions through a joint resolution. The Department of Agriculture assured support through village-level awareness efforts, reinforcing the push towards sustainable, burn-free farming systems. 🌱
